We Love a Parade: A Bella Blvd Layout Share

With an annual fourth of July parade passing just steps from our front door, it's only natural that attending it would quickly become our family tradition.  My boys are often enthralled with the trucks and tractors that pass by, and then naturally, spend the remainder of their time searching the pavement for every last piece of candy that has been tossed their way.

Bella Blvd's All American collection was a natural choice to scrapbook this memory.  I love all of the stars, stripes and polka dot images it includes.  To balance out the bold and colorful elements on the page however, I reached for a tone on tone woodgrain patterened paper from the Love and Marriage collection to use as my background.  Here's a look....

Supplies used: Bella Blvd - All American: Borders and Cute Cuts, Seeing Stars, United We Stand, Alpha+Bits, Flags; Love and Marriage: Smokeys in Love; Sophisticates: Petite Pieces; Ciao Chip: All American Icons, Stars and Hearts; Designer Tape: Ice Stripe; Button Market: Stars, High Five Alphas: Brown-Cream, Gulf; Other: Westrim sequins, crochet thread, Hero Arts gems, Heidi Swap chipboard frame, machine stitching, Veteran Typewriter font.

Bella's stickpin flags are always a sweet little accent that can be tucked in just about anywhere on a page or card.  Here I tied a simple little bow of crochet thread around my frame, and easially tucked and secured the flag through the knot.  A splash of sequins, gems and buttons adds a bit more detail and interest to this ensemble.

For the page title, I originally used only the white letter stickers to spell out my saying.  While it was legible, in the end, I decided to layer the white stickers over top a matching blue set to create the look of a shadow and a little more pop to the title piece.

This page, along with several other patriotic pages is up over on the Bella blog today.  I hope you'll stop by and check them out!
